RBM Partnership Advocacy Guide
Advocacy works. Influencing what people think and do about malaria may seem like an uphill struggle. It is.
Whether you are trying to persuade your Finance Minister to reduce taxes and tariffs on mosquito nets or campaigning to change attitudes towards sleeping under a bednet, there are many challenges.
The purpose of this guide is to help you in your efforts to tell others about the Roll Back Malaria partnership and influence their thinking. It has been created with you in mind, remembering that you may also work on other killer diseases, such as TB and HIV/AIDS, as well as a great many other health issues. It is practical and focused and we hope you find it useful in your day-to-day work.
And it is inspiring to remember that despite the challenges, there are many rewards. Before you begin to read this guide, just consider how other struggles around the world have been won thanks to the efforts of people like you. The aim of this guide is to encourage you to think about global advocacy successes and techniques and then tailor them to your local needs and audiences.
