Malaria Indicator Survey (MIS) Toolkit

MIS ToolkitMIS Guidance Materials and MIS Training Workshop
The materials in this toolkit were developed by the Roll Back Malaria Monitoring and Evaluation Reference Group (RBM-MERG), with contributions from the following partners: United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Swiss Tropical Institute; Johns Hopkins University; The World Bank; The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine; Macro International; Malaria Consortium; Malaria Control and Evaluation Partnership in Africa (MACEPA), a programme at PATH; Malaria in Pregnancy Consortium Secretariat; MEASURE Evaluation, World Health Organization (WHO); WHO Regional Office for Africa; RBM Partnership Secretariat, Tulane University, UNICEF; and United States Agency for International Development/President’s Malaria Initiative. This toolkit also largely benefited from national programmes in countries having conducted Malaria Indicator Surveys.

The documents assembled here provide guidance, templates, and models for the different steps of conducting such surveys: planning, implementation, data analysis and reporting, dissemination, and informed decision-making. The intended audience includes any institution involved in conducting malaria indicator surveys, such as national malaria control programs, central statistics agencies/offices, partners, and donors.
